removable and interchangeable screen and tempered glass inserts,

This three season porch
construction features our Brighton style wall panels with
divided lite transoms installed above. Since this room receives a lot of sun,
it heats up quite a bit with all the glass installed. In the spring and fall, when it is still too chilly to
convert the wall panels to screen, transoms provide a great source of
ventilation. According to the homeowner, they convert the transoms from glass to screen first,
allowing the heat to rise and exit.

During the construction of this three season porch, temporary posts
supported the roof until the flagstone floor was finished, then the
permanent posts and beams were placed and then the transoms went in
first. |

The growing popularity of three season
rooms has led to a wide selection of stylish, quality furnishings for
outdoor living spaces including furniture, ceiling fans, lighting,
rugs and blinds. |

This beautifully appointed three season room features
our single lite knee wall panels. According to
the homeowner, they installed a floor heating system under the
porcelain tile and cellular shades on the windows to help with
insulation during the winter. They report that even in 10-20 degree
weather, they have been able to maintain 60-70 degree inside
temps--warmer when the sun comes in the south windows |

Construction Details
Touchstone Woodworks' doors, wall panels and transoms are constructed from 1-1/4” thick
mahogany with mortise and tenon joinery, epoxied and pegged through
with mahogany pegs.
All our units are designed to accept interchangeable screen and
tempered glass inserts, which are securely fastened with machine
screws and shoulder washers, making them easy to change: all you need is a flat head screwdriver.

We offer a choice of white or dark bronze aluminum screen and storm
frames. These are less cumbersome to store and easier to maintain than
units with wooden screen and storm frames. If you have a screen that
needs repair, just removed the screen and take the screen to your
local hardware or glass store for rescreening. |
